Your data should strengthen your training—not someone else's advertising business.

The short version

• Core workout tracking works without an account.
• We do not sell personal data or use third-party advertising trackers.
• Apple Health access is optional. HealthKit data is processed on your device and is excluded from Swole Goal cloud sync and encrypted backups.
• AI features run only when you choose to use them and may send the information shown to your selected AI provider.
• You can delete app data and, when available, your Swole Goal account from inside the app.

Information you choose to provide

Swole Goal may process workout programs, exercises, sets, repetitions, weights, effort ratings, notes, schedules, nutrition entries, macro goals, body measurements, settings, and other information you enter. Meal photos are accessed only when you choose a photo-based food feature. Camera access may also be used for barcode scanning.

Apple Health

If you authorize it, Swole Goal may read selected HealthKit categories such as sleep, body mass, height, body-fat percentage, resting heart rate, heart-rate variability, VO₂ max, biological sex, date of birth, and workouts. The exact categories requested are shown by Apple before access is granted. You can change access at any time in the Health app or iPhone Settings.

Swole Goal does not include HealthKit information in its app-owned cloud synchronization or exported backups. Health information is not used for advertising, marketing, or data brokerage.

Accounts, purchases, and cloud sync

Sign in with Apple may provide a stable identifier and, on first authorization, a name or private relay email depending on your choices. Subscription transactions are processed by Apple; Swole Goal receives purchase status but not your full payment-card details. If you enable cloud sync, app-owned workout, program, nutrition, and preference data may be stored in your private iCloud/CloudKit database under Apple's services.

AI features

AI coaching, program-building, and meal-photo estimation are optional. The app shows the relevant request context before an AI action. Depending on the version you use, requests may be sent to OpenAI or Anthropic using a key you provide, or through a Swole Goal service disclosed in the app. Those providers process submitted text or images under their own terms and privacy policies.

AI nutrition results are estimates. Photos may not reveal portion weight, preparation method, oils, sauces, or hidden ingredients. Review and correct results before relying on them.

Barcode lookup and external services

Barcode numbers may be sent to Open Food Facts to look up product information. Spotify links may open outside the app without giving Swole Goal access to your Spotify account. Apple provides HealthKit, CloudKit, Sign in with Apple, StoreKit, notifications, and TestFlight under Apple's platform terms.

Diagnostics and analytics

The current app does not include a third-party advertising or analytics SDK. Apple may provide App Store or TestFlight diagnostics and aggregated usage information under Apple's policies. If this changes, this policy and App Store disclosures will be updated before new collection begins.

Storage, security, and retention

Much of your information is stored on your device. Optional cloud data is protected through Apple's services. Exported backups are encrypted using the passphrase you choose; losing that passphrase may make the backup unrecoverable. We retain information only as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service.

Your choices

• Decline or revoke camera, photo, notification, Health, and cloud permissions.
• Use core workout tracking without creating an account.
• Edit or delete workout and nutrition entries inside the app.
• Export an encrypted backup where supported.
• Delete your account and associated app-owned cloud data from the app, subject to connectivity and Apple's service availability.

Children

Swole Goal is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Users who are minors should use fitness guidance with a parent, guardian, and qualified professional as appropriate.
